    Big news, #WolfPack! We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Thomas A. Chambers, Ph.D., as Loyola’s new Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, effective this June!

    Dr. Chambers joins us from Canisius University, where he has served as the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences since 2019. With over 20 years of leadership experience in higher education, his expertise in academic innovation and his outstanding scholarship set him apart among an impressive pool of candidates.

    His dedication to the transformative power of Jesuit education resonates deeply with us, and we are excited to see how his vision will continue to shape and elevate our academic programs and student development at Loyola.

    HOWL! #LOYNO alum Tom Llamas, ’01, will become anchor and managing editor of “NBC Nightly News” after Lester Holt steps down this summer. In addition to becoming the youngest anchor of any network evening news broadcast, he will also make history as the first Latino to host the weekday edition of NBC Nightly News, according to @nbcnews. @llamasnbc will continue to anchor NBC News Now’s “Top Story,” becoming the first evening broadcast anchor to also anchor a primetime weekday streaming newscast.

    Tom graduated from #LOYNO with degrees in broadcast journalism, speech and drama. In 2015, he was inducted into the @loyola_cmm’s Den of Distinction.

    Tom, we are so proud of you. We’re enjoying watching your career grow, and we can’t wait to see how you will continue to contribute to the field of journalism.

    Big news, #WolfPack! Stuart Gay has been named our new Chief Financial Officer!

    Since joining Loyola in October 2024 as VP of Finance, Stuart has hit the ground running, working with leadership and campus partners to strengthen our financial strategy, optimize budgets, and ensure our resources are making the biggest impact where they’re needed most.

    Before Loyola, Stuart served as CFO for NOLA Public Schools and a director at Afton Partners. With this background, he brings to Loyola years of expertise in financial stewardship, funding equity, and operational sustainability.

    Join us in welcoming Stuart into this expanded role! His leadership will be instrumental in shaping a strong financial future for Loyola, ensuring we continue to grow, thrive, and serve our students and community with excellence.

    Join us on Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Nunemaker Hall for a panel discussion with sitting presidents from five Catholic universities for a conversation about the challenges and opportunities facing the future of Catholic higher education. This two-hour forum will allow each president to draw upon their unique perspectives on Catholic higher education and its value, especially in light of legislative deliberations on federal policy and education.
